Thach Thanh farmers help each other develop the economy

The honey beekeeping model of Huong Hoa Honey Cooperative brings high economic efficiency.

Visiting Huong Hoa Honey Cooperative in Thanh Hung Commune with officials of the Farmers' Association of Thach Thanh District, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, director of the Cooperative, said: Taking advantage of the forest, in 2018, he and 18 members of the commune established Huong Hoa Honey Cooperative. In order to develop the beekeeping profession, the Cooperative was entrusted by the Farmers' Association of Thanh Hung Commune with the Transaction Office of the District Social Policy Bank to provide loans for production; at the same time, participating in training courses on beekeeping techniques organized by the district and commune; learning and studying techniques and experiences of beekeeping models in many localities in the district; investing in modern machinery and technology to process honey. Up to now, Huong Hoa Honey Cooperative has raised from 700 to 800 bee colonies, concentrated in neighboring communes with large forest areas. On average, each year, the Cooperative produces nearly 18 tons of honey, with a revenue of more than 1.7 billion VND. In 2020, Huong Hoa honey product was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product.

Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Thach Thanh district Nguyen Hong Van said: In order to create conditions for farmers to develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, the association has recently organized emulation movements, such as: farmers competing in production and good business; developing farm and family economy, renovating mixed gardens. In addition, the association has coordinated with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, the District Social Policy Bank Branch to exploit capital sources for farmers to borrow for economic development. By the end of April 2025, the total outstanding capital managed by the association was over 1,000 billion VND, lending to 9,716 farmers for economic development. The association coordinates with specialized departments, offices, and enterprises to open training courses to transfer science and technology to farmers; build and develop economic models; mobilize, guide, and support farmers to participate in developing cooperative economic models and developing enterprises; Cooperate with businesses to deploy production linkage chains, linked with product consumption according to organic technology; test the rice planting model with Dau Trau fertilizer in Thach Binh commune. Through the movement, the production model has mobilized farmers to support and help each other in the community with materials, plants, seeds, capital, science - technology... to develop production, business, and solve on-site jobs for many workers.

Up to now, the whole district has had 9,980 households registered for the title of good farmers and businessmen, and 6,639 households have achieved the title of good farmers and businessmen at all levels. Through the movement, many typical farmers have emerged with production and business models that bring high economic efficiency, creating jobs for hundreds of local workers.
