Environmental and health expert Sonthi Kotchawat has issued a stark warning about escalating global climate chaos in 2025, highlighting extreme weather patterns worldwide, including unusually high temperatures during Thailand’s rainy season.
On his Facebook page, Sonthi noted that despite the rainy season, parts of Thailand have recorded abnormal temperatures of up to 37°C. He also predicted heavier-than-usual rainfall from mid-August through September.
Globally, July 2025 ranked as the third-hottest July on record, according to the World Meteorological Organisation. Heatwaves are expected to continue across parts of Asia, Europe, and North America. Countries including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, and regions of North Africa are forecast to see temperatures soaring between 38°C and 40°C, while parts of the southwestern US may exceed 45°C.

Southwestern Europe is preparing for a heatwave with temperatures expected to top 40°C in Spain and France in the coming days.
