 Seminar on beekeeping for sustainability


Don Bosco Province of Dimapur conducted one day seminar on art of beekeeping at Salesian College, Dimapur, organized by Don Bosco Green Alliance of the Province, in collaboration with Nagaland Bee and Honey Mission (NBHM).


The seminar aimed to raise awareness and impart practical skills in sustainable beekeeping practices. A press release by principal, Christ King Higher Secondary School Kohima, Fr. Innocent, informed that under the guidance of apiculture officer and team member of NBHM, Chubala, and, deputy team leader from NBHM, Er. Khuvoi Vese, participants received in depth training on various facets of beekeeping, including hive maintenance, honey extraction, and sustainable apiculture techniques.


Chubala in her address highlighted ecological importance of beekeeping in supporting biodiversity and emphasized critical role that bees play in pollination, which directly impacts local agriculture and food security, while Er. Vese engaged participants with technical overview of beekeeping equipment, techniques for hive construction, and effective ways to manage bee health and productivity in the Nagaland climate.


The seminar cum training also aligned with the mission of Don Bosco Green Alliance, which promotes ecological sustainability and environmental responsibility among youth.
